PRESIDENT'S WELCOME
A very warm welcome to the Cambridge University United Nations Association! As we stand at a pivotal moment in global affairs, with upcoming elections in the US as well as rising geopolitical tensions from regions like Russia and Israel, the international community faces multidimensional challenges. In this environment, consensus through focused action, particularly in advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and addressing interconnected issues is all the more important. As future global leaders, we must take the opportunity to engage with these pressing issues.
At CUUNA, we firmly believe in the need to understand and debate these critical issues. We trust in the power of collaboration and innovation to tackle the most pressing challenges of our time. This year, we have some exciting events coming up: a talk with the Former UK Ambassador to Myanmar alongside a UN and International Development Careers Panel co-hosted with the University Careers Service. Topical issues such as the return of art and a crisis debate set against the collapse of the USSR are some other highlights.
As president of CUUNA, my vision is clear: to broaden our reach and foster a culture of inclusivity and excellence. Together, we will shine a spotlight on critical issues, such as through our initiatives SAFE and the CUIMUN Conference. My aim is to foster collaboration with other UN Associations across the UK to present opportunities for knowledge exchange and networking, further enriching the CUUNA experience for all.
I am excited to lead CUUNA with energy, enthusiasm, and a commitment to upholding the friendly atmosphere that sets us apart. Join us as we embark on this adventure and feel free to reach out to us if you have any questions!
